Botox & Fillers FAQ

Dermal Fillers & Botox

Welcome to LMB Aesthetics, where you can achieve your dream look without going under the knife. Our non-surgical procedures are designed to help you feel confident and beautiful. We specialize in providing dermal fillers, which can add volume to the face and redefine your natural features. Our dedicated team of certified professionals is trained to help you achieve your goals and ensure that your experience with us is exceptional.

Why Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable, biodegradable substances that augment or restore volume to the treatment areas. Often they help treat age-related fat loss, augment areas of the face, and address facial asymmetry.

The most popular and widely used fillers are hyaluronic acid based (HA fillers). This substance is found naturally in the body and injected in a gel form. The gel carrier allows your nurse injector to manipulate the filler to fit your anatomy and goals. It also makes the injections more comfortable.

Long lasting filler options made of poly-L-lactic acid or calcium hydroxylapatite are available. However, these options are not suitable for everyone in all situations. If you are looking for a long term result or are addressing massive fat loss, then various treatments may work for you. It is best to book a consultation to explore your options with your provider.

Botox

Botox is a FDA-approved cosmetic procedure used to smooth out wrinkles, reduce the signs of aging, and create a refreshed and rejuvenated look.

Botox softens and reduces visible wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that create wrinkles, such as frown lines, worry lines and forehead furrows.

There are also many other areas of the face and neck where they can be applied for a total face and neck rejuvenation effect, called a "liquid facelift” and a “liquid necklift."

Botox treatments are relatively quick and easy, with results generally visible within a few days. The results of both usually last about three to four months, and clients can receive additional injections or touch ups whenever they desire.

At LMB Aesthetics, our goal is to achieve a well rested youthful look to slow down the effects of aging. We are highly trained in applying Botox in a variety of ways that we call, “Soft Glam Tox” Botox, so as to highlight your natural beauty.

We use individualized Botox placement patterns, tailored to your specific beauty concerns, that will accentuate your beauty and help you achieve your desired look.

Commonly Treated Areas

Bunny Lines

Placing Botox in your nose's bunny lines prevents the wrinkling that occurs in the middle top part of your nose.

Crow’s Feet

The side of your eyes can cause unsightly wrinkles that can extend out to your temple areas whenever you squint or smile. In more severe cases they can extend all the way down your cheeks. As we age, these wrinkle lines resemble “Crow’s Feet” and become more and more pronounced and eventually become permanent, even when we are not squinting or smiling. They quickly give away our age. All this can be prevented by applying Botox to the muscles under your skin to soften these wrinkles, preventing them from forming any further.

Dimpling Chin

Botox in the chin reduces the midline chin crease that forms with age and softens the cobblestone, dimpled, orange peel appearance that occurs with aging.

Droopy Eyelids

Have droopy lids? Botox may be just what you need. By placing small amounts of Botox in the tarsus muscle right above the upper eyelash you can get an eyelid lift, making your eye look more open and youthful.

Droopy Smile / Marionette Lines

Botox placed in the DAO muscle that causes the “marionette lines” to form, decreases jowling and the sad look you get as you age and lines form from the corners of your mouth down to the sides of your chin. Botox can also be placed in the corners of the mouth to get rid of a sad smile and to slightly up turn the corners of the mouth.

Eyebrow Lift

By directly targeting the eyebrow muscles with Botox we can raise your eyebrows and lift your eyelids.

Forehead Lines

These lines can form when the strong muscles of your forehead contract to raise up your eyebrows whenever you are surprised or even when you are just talking. These natural expression lines can leave horizontal or arched wrinkles across your forehead. Eventually, these lines become permanent, etched deeply across your forehead giving away your age. Botox can be placed in such a way that it does not leave you expressionless, but rather it leaves your forehead looking smooth, relaxed and youthful, as we all looked like when we were younger.

Frown Lines

Also known as the 11 lines, are those angry looking vertical wrinkles in the center of your lower forehead, between your eyebrows. These expressive frown lines are caused by frequent muscle movements. Those lines often make you look angry. Softening up these lines, or preventing them from ever forming, can help you look happier, friendlier and more youthful. Once you see yourself always looking “happy,” you won’t want to go back to appearing angry ever again.

Gummy Smile

Did you know that by placing Botox by the nose and above the upper lip that it can decrease your gummy smile when you smile?

Lip Flip

Botox lip flips are an increasingly popular cosmetic procedure. A Botox lip flip relaxes the muscles around the mouth, "flipping" the lip upward, giving it a fuller, beautiful, yet, natural-looking pout. This also helps decrease a gummy smile. The Botox lip flip is an excellent choice for those looking for a subtle enhancement to their lips, instead of the increased volume that is achieved with dermal fillers. If you’re looking to add a little extra pout to your lips without too much effort, a Botox lip flip may be the perfect choice for you.

Masseters / Jaw Slimming

Masseter Botox, sometimes called Jawline Botox, contours the face, creating a slimmer, V-shaped jawline. Masseter Botox also helps treat several conditions: teeth grinding, clenching, jaw pain and headaches.

Migraines

Some migraine headaches can be treated with Botox by strategically placing Botox in certain muscles of the face, scalp, neck and back.

Nasal Flaring

Placing Botox in the nostrils prevents your nostrils from flaring out when you talk or smile. This makes your nose look slimmer and more refined.

Nasal Tip Lift

Placing Botox in your nose's column lifts the tip of your nose up. This makes your nose look slimmer and more refined.

Nefertiti

Botox placed along the jawline helps lift up the platysma neck muscle, giving your neck a neck lift effect and giving your jawline a slimmer, V-shaped, aesthetically-pleasing appearance.

Platysmal Neck Bands

Some people can develop platysmal bands in the neck that look like strings that run from the chin down the neck to the collar bones. These too can be treated with Botox to weaken the rope-like tension they cause and to prevent them from popping out whenever you are smiling or talking. Treating these neck bands helps lift up the platysma neck muscle giving your neck a neck lift effect and giving your neck a slimmer, aesthetically-pleasing, and younger looking appearance.

Smoker's / Barcode Lines

Placing small amounts of Botox above the upper lip, in the "mustache" area, can relax the muscle there and smooth out smoker's or barcode lines in that area.

Sweaty Armpits, Hands & Feet

Excessively sweaty body parts, such as the armpits, hands, & feet, can also be treated with Botox, allowing you to feel dry, comfortable and confident in any situation.

Trapezius Botox / Shoulder Slimming / Trap Tox / Barbie Botox

It's called Barbie Botox because placing Botox in your trapezius back muscles makes your neck appear longer and relaxes the triangular humps in your back so your shoulder and upper back appear thinner. Relaxing the trapezius back muscle also improves your posture and decreases pain in that area.

Trigger Point Botox

Placing Botox in painful areas of the upper back region relaxes the muscles there and helps alleviate back pain.

What Can I Expect During My Treatment Session?

During your consultation, your treatment areas will be accessed, cleaned, and then marked with a washable crayon.

Your treatment will depend on your specific wrinkle pattern. The number of units injected will depend on the extent of the your problem areas and the specific product being used.

Each face is unique, and we will discuss how many units they feel you need and the approximate cost before they begin the procedure. All treatments should take around 30 - 45 minutes. There's little downtime associated with these treatments, and it is perfectly safe for patients to drive themselves to and from their appointment.

However, to avoid that the product move from the injected sites and affect non targeted sites, we strongly recommend that you remain in an upright position, do not exercise, look down, sleep or lay down, do not apply any pressure, rub, squeeze, or lay on the treatment areas for 6 hours after the procedure.

That means, no hats, headbands, ice, massages, or facials should be applied for 6 hours either. For best results, schedule your appointment earlier in the day if you plan to get to bed early as well. After this short, but important waiting period, clients can return to normal life activities without any restrictions.

Am I A Good Candidate For Botox Treatments?

Treatments with Botox are safe and effective, accessible options for people looking to smooth out their skin and diminish the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles. Certain medical conditions, medications, or pregnancy, may make a person ineligible for treatment, so always discuss your complete health record with the Doctor. Only patients over 18 years old are eligible for these treatments.
